A response.
About this post, if you simply Google the names they provide, these articles come up.
In Jamie’s case, yes, she was fined for 24 songs. The final verdict was NOT $1.5 million, as the original post claimed. It was reduced to just over $50,000.
In Richard’s case, he’s being expedited back to the US because he owns/runs a site that’s rather like megaupload, called tvshack.com. The entire site had copyrighted content on it. By the name I’m going to assume that the original purpose was to watch TV online, but I’m not able to confirm that because the site is now gone.
The original post just knows how to mess with the minds of Tumblr users, because sadly most do not go and check information after they read it. Please don’t freak out about that, it’s really not worth it. Unless you run a site like Megaupload I doubt you have any reason to worry. Just don’t download anything else. <3
Emma is awesome. This is in response to the My Fellow Tumblrers post.

$50,000 is still a LOT of money for 24 songs. :/ We should temper our fear, but not banish it all together.
